London is a popular destination for event planners from across the globe and a new marketing campaign aims to showcase the benefits of staging meetings in the city and encourage more bookings.
The new campaign has been developed by London & Partners, the city’s official promotional company, and convention bureau. It will focus on the expertise that the capital has across a range of sectors.
There are many different venues in London and the campaign, ‘London: Capital of Cutting-Edge’, will highlight the advantages of these to conference organisers from across industries, especially technology, finance, the creative industries and life sciences, in which the city has particular expertise.
Sector specific expertise
A report by London & Partners found that these four clusters have been crucial in attracting many major events to the capital. They make the city an attractive, unique destination, where event planners can make use of the best skills and talent. Delegates have a range of networking opportunities, including those on board Thames luxury charters.
Over the past few years, London has played host to some major medical congresses, including the European Association of Periodontology. There are others planned for this year, such as the European Respiratory Society congress. The capital will have more to offer the industry as there is an expansion in the life sciences and new sites open, including The Francis Crick Institute.
London is well known for its financial knowledge, as well as being the globe’s largest financial technology hub. It has recently secured Sibos 2019, which will attract around 9,000 professionals to the capital.
The promotional video for the ‘London: Capital of Cutting-Edge’ campaign will be premiered at IMEX Frankfurt on 19th April.
